Sukrit is ongoing project which follows a grandmother teaching her grandson how to prepare Sukrit — a sacred dish rooted in Islamic and Ismaili tradition, said to have first been made by the Prophet himself and carried forward through generations, including within the Ismaili community today.
Through the simple, everyday act of cooking together, the film explores how faith, memory, and meaning are passed down — not through lectures, but through hands, ingredients, and quiet moments in a kitchen. Each of Sukrit's five ingredients carries its own symbolism: wheat for sacrifice and unity, ghee for purity and gentleness, sugar for the sweetness of faith, milk for spiritual nourishment, and holy water for cleansing and truth.
As the grandmother explains each element to her grandson, the dish becomes more than food — it becomes a way of understanding devotion, patience, and what it means to nourish both body and spirit.

Animatic of the video - part 2
This is my favourtie shot of the video where two people share sukrit.
I initially started building this in Photoshop but partway through realized the piece would come together much better in Blender —wanted to play around with 3D background and 2d characters.
